New from Twisted Wood
The Carnyx is a new ukulele pickup system exclusive to Twisted Wood. It unlocks the unlimited potential of your ukulele, and extends its capabilities to the stage, recording studio, and beyond.
Amplify
Engineered to optimise the unique frequencies of the ukulele and elevate them to entirely new heights, the Carnyx is fine-tuned to increase and enhance the breadth of your instrument’s tonal and dynamic range. The result is astonishingly natural, clear, and powerful amplification. There is no background hum or unwanted noise- The Carnyx helps your ukulele to sound its absolute best regardless of the venue.
Design
As a Piezo pickup, the Carnyx works by turning the sound of your ukulele into an electrical signal. A transducer sits invisibly underneath the saddle of the instrument, and vibrations from the strings cause small compressions to the piezo material. The Carnyx interprets these fluctuations, and converts them into a signal which can be amplified.
Because of its precise design and expert construction, all of the Carnyx’s electronics can be easily installed within any size of ukulele.
Convenience
In contrast to its expansive sound, the Carnyx is incredibly discreet and lightweight. Ergonomic volume and tone wheels are inconspicuously mounted to the sound-hole so that they are easily and seamlessly accessible during a performance or recording without affecting the aesthetic of your instrument. The preamp is hidden entirely within the endpin, and the whole system is powered by two 3V batteries. The Carnyx has a minimal, almost unnoticeable impact on the weight and balance of your instrument.
Sound
The Carnyx makes use of a soft, braided material for its transducer, creating a warm, stable, and authentic representation of the ukulele’s sound.
This new pickup system features a dual control system that allows for total optimization of both amplification and tonality. These ergonomic volume and tone wheels allow you to easily and effectively refine both the quality and loudness of your performance.
