George “Keoki” Lake was born in 1928 in Edmonton, Alberta and lived in Edmonton throughout his life. George began playing music in his teens. He is especially known for his mastery of the Hawaiian steel guitar. His nickname, “Keoki”, is the Hawaiian translation of “George”.
